Thye Hua Kwan Temple - Stained Glass Windows Commission

In 2018, Reedy was commissioned to design four floors of stained glass windows for the Thye Hua Kwan Temple in Singapore in collaboration with architect Lee Coo Consultant Associates.

She drew inspiration from Taoist philosophy, seeking harmony through the ‘way of nature’.  Symbolic objects, each held by one of the Eight Taoist Immortals, were set in a lush expanse of greenery, sky, and water, flanking the sides of the main prayer hall. On the upper two floors flowers, depicting different spiritual traditions, are held together on a single ribbon to represent the practice of religious tolerance and the generous communal spirit cultivated at Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society. Through their many charitable works, the entire community is lifted up to a higher realm by a dove, the universal symbol for peace.
